Frequently asked
Common questions
- How long does a marriage green card take?
- For a U.S. citizen spouse filing inside the U.S. via adjustment of status, the timeline is typically 8–14 months. Consular processing of an immigrant visa abroad takes 10–15 months. Legal permanent resident spouses face longer waits.
- K-1 fiancé(e) visa or marriage green card — which is better?
- It depends on where your fiancé(e) is, how quickly you want to marry in the U.S., and your work and travel needs. We will walk through both paths and recommend the right one for your situation.
- What if I entered the U.S. without inspection?
- There may still be options — provisional waivers, U-visas, VAWA, or cancellation of removal. We will assess your case honestly and never promise outcomes we cannot defend.
- Can I petition for my parents or siblings?
- U.S. citizens 21 or older can petition parents (immediate relative, no quota) and siblings (F4 category, with significant wait times). We help families plan around these timelines.
